In order to ensure good sightings of tiger and other wildlife, a stay of at least 3 nights is recommended. Visitors are taken out by open four-wheel drive vehicles to see and photograph wildlife at dawn and in the afternoon picnics and bird walks are arranged. Picnic breakfasts are served in the National Park and eaten at an opportune time during the morning safari.

On Kanha's meadows herds of spotted deer mingle with blackbuck and the magnificent Barasingha, one of the world's rarest deer. The imposing gaur, the largest wild oxen, can be seen browsing amongst the bamboos on the hillsides. The silver langur monkey barks his warning signal and the peacock calls when the tiger is on the move. This beautiful jungle probably gives visitors the greatest chance in India of seeing and photographing the most spectacular of all great cats - the tiger.
